DRIVER AND PASSENGER BOTH CHARGED

(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) - On May 24, 2017 at approximately 12:36 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on the Grey-Bruce Townline in the Township of Chatsworth resulting in charges against the driver and the passenger.

The driver of the vehicle, 28-year old Joseph Gordon POLLARD, was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for driving a motor vehicle with no licence and with driving a motor vehicle with no current validation permit.

The passenger, 27-year old Samantha Jamie HILLYER, was issued a Part III Summons for permitting a motor vehicle to be driven without valid insurance. She is scheduled to appear in Court in Owen Sound on July 7, 2017.

Both accused reside in South Bruce Peninsula. The vehicle, a 2005 Dodge Caravan, was towed.

MISCHIEF-SEVERAL REALTOR SIGNS DAMAGED

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) - On May 29, 2017 at 11:07 a.m., the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint regarding missing and damaged realtor signs in areas of Tobermory and Dorcas Bay, in the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.

Between the dates of May 13 and May 27, 2017, several signs were ripped off and posts broken. In some cases, the signs were located in the nearby bush. Police are actively investigating these mischiefs.

POLICE INVESTIGATING FATAL CRASH

(CHATSWORTH TWP, ON) - On May 30, 2017 at 8:52 p.m., the Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a 2 vehicle crash along Highway 10 in Chatsworth Township. Grey OPP and OPP Highway Safety officers arrived to find that an International Transport Truck and a White BMW were involved in the crash.

The driver of the BMW was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver's name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

The driver of the Transport was taken to a local hospital for assessment of minor injuries.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit is assisting the Grey County OPP with this incident.

Highway 10 has been closed between Grey County Road 40 and Hatten Drive for the safety of emergency responders. Motorists are asked to respect the closure and avoid the incident area.

The investigation is in its early stages.

POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN ATV

(GREENOCK TWP, ON) - On May 19, 2017 at 12:44 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from a residence along the Greenock-Brant line in Greenock Township.

Sometime between 9:00 p.m. on May 18, 2017 and 12:00 p.m. on May 19, 2017, a "Camo" colored Suzuki King Quad All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) licence #1ED47 was taken. There is no estimate on the value of the stolen ATV at this time.

STRUCTURE FIRE DEEMED SUSPICIOUS

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) - On May 22, 2017 at approximately 9:24 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), together with the Inter-Township Fire Department, responded to a report of a structure fire on Lindenwood Rd. in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

The structure, a detached bungalow which had been unoccupied since November 2016, had recently sold. The fire has been deemed suspicious.

The Grey County OPP Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Ontario Fire Marshal Office, continues to investigate.

THEFT OF HONDA TRAIL BIKE

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) - On May 24, 2017, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the theft of a 2006 Honda 150 cc trail bike from a residence on Argyle Street, Markdale, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

The bike, which was chained to a hydro pole in the front yard, was taken sometime between 2:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on May 23, 2017.
