ATV COLLISION ON PRIVATE PROPERTY - TWO PEOPLE INJURED

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) - On May 13, 2017 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a residential property on Hwy. 10 in the Township of Southgate in response to a collision involving an All-Terrain-Vehicle (ATV).

The operator of the 2009 Canada Outlander ATV, a 15 year old girl, lost control of the ATV which rolled. As a result, she and two passengers, a 9 year girl and a 24 year old female were thrown from the vehicle.

The operator and the 9 year old girl, both from Newmarket, Ontario, were transported to hospital with undisclosed injuries. The 24 year old female, from the Township of Southgate, was not injured.

All three riders were not wearing helmets at the time.

Grey County OPP encourage ATV owner and operators to ride safely and responsibly to reduce the risk of injury or death and to always wear an approved motorcycle helmet when riding.

BAIL VIOLATION

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) - On May 14, 2017 at approximately 7:32 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a 2012 Chevrolet Impala vehicle on Grey Road 4 near Sideroad 35 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

A male passenger in the vehicle, who is known to police, was bound by a court order not to be outside his residence with alcohol in his system. The accused had been drinking and was subsequently arrested.

44-year old Ian David HARGRAVE of the Municipality of Grey Highlands was charged with breach of probation. He attended a bail hearing on May 15, 2017. He remains in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 17, 207.

MALE DRIVER CHARGED FOR RACING

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) -On Sunday May 14, 2017 at 3:26 p.m., a Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a southbound, white 2016 Toyota Highlander for driving more than 50 kilometers over the posted speed limit, on 6 Highway, near the Mar Side Road, in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula, ON.

A 20-year-old driver from Mississauga, ON, has been charged with race a motor vehicle. Police seized and impounded the vehicle for seven days and his driver's licence has been suspended for 7 days. He is scheduled to appear at the Owen Sound Court of Justice on June 19, 2017 to answer to the charge.

MISSING PERSON NOT LOCATED-INVESTIGATION ONGOING

(BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) -The Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing their investigation into the disappearance of 30-year-old Niram SHOULDICE who was reported missing/overdue by family members on March 6, 2017.

Investigators are requesting all residents and seasonal cottagers to check their properties and buildings, in the Lions Head and Ferndale area, over the May 24th weekend.

Police believe the last known siting of Niram was in Ferndale on March 5, 2017 at approximately 7:00 p.m., in the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.

The West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), the West Region Canine Unit and the OPP Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) have conducted extensive searches of the Ferndale area with negative results in locating Niram SHOULDICE. The UAS is a power driven aircraft, other than a model aircraft, that is operated without a flight crew member on board. This system can record and transmit images to assist with the search.

The investigation is being conducted by the Bruce Peninsula OPP Crime Unit, with assistance from the Grey County OPP Crime Unit and under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch.

SCHOOL PROPERTY TAGGED WITH GRAFFITI

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) - On May 15, 2017 at approximately 8:24 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information that someone had tagged four doors at the Dundalk Proton Community School at 251 Young Street in the Township of Southgate, sometime between 8:00 p.m. Friday May 12 and 6:30 a.m. Monday May 15, 2017. Graffiti has a negative impact on the community. Person(s) responsible may be charged with the criminal offence of mischief which is the willful damage or destruction of property.

Get involved. Report any suspicious activity to police.

OPP CONDUCTING SEARCH

(HURON TWP, ON) - Members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Huron OPP, OPP West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP West Region Canine Unit and the OPP West Region Tactical Response Unit (TRU) are conducting a search in the Municipality of Huron-Kinloss in regards to an ongoing investigation.

The following Huron Township roads have been closed while the search is underway: Bruce County Road 7 between Concession 2 and Concession 6
Concession 4 between Side road 10 south and Side road 20 south
