DISABLED SNOWMOBILE STOLEN FROM SIDE OF ROAD

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) On February 11, 2017, at approximately 11:04 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen snowmobile from the Township of Southgate.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., the victim, a 28-year old Strathroy man, was operating his snowmobile on the OFSC trail near Southgate Sideroad 41 and Southgate Rd. 12 when it broke down. He left the sled at the side of the road. When he returned to the scene with his truck and trailer a short time later, the snowmobile was gone.

The stolen snowmobile was described as a green, 2004 Artic Cat FirecatF6, VIN -4UF04SNW94T127940, licence 929019.

DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED CARE AND CONTROL, OVER 80

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) On February 9, 2017 at approximately 8:28 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver operating a black Mercedes Benz on Grey Rd. 4 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. The vehicle was said to be swerving all over the road and was nearly involved in a collision with another vehicle.

Police located the suspect vehicle stopped on Sydenham Street in Flesherton, just north of Grey Rd. 4. The vehicle was running and the driver, who police determined had been drinking alcohol, was arrested for impaired care and control of a vehicle and transported to the Chatsworth OPP detachment for breath tests. Test results indicated that the driver's blood/alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit.

54-year old Scott PRAILL of Chatham, Ontario was charged with care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and, care and control over 80 mg.

He is scheduled to attend court in Owen Sound on February 23, 2017.

OPEN LIQUOR AND 7-DAY SUSPENSION DURING R.I.D.E. CHECK

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) On February 11, 2017 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on Hwy. 6 & 21 (Sunset Strip) in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

A passenger in a 2006 GMC pick-up truck, 29-year old Devon YULE of the Municipality of Meaford was issued a Provincial Offence Notice under the Liquor Licence Act for having an open container of liquor.

A 22-year old driver from South Bruce Peninsula operating a 2011 Dodge pick-up truck was issued a 7-day driver's licence suspension after a roadside breath test registered in the "warn-range" and police learned that this was the driver's second "warn-range" suspension.

VEHICLE FIRE

(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) On February 11, 2017 at approximately 6:44 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle fire on the 16th Sideroad in the Municipality of Meaford.

The owner of the 2003 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck had recently done work to the transmission and was taking the vehicle on a test drive when it caught fire.

The Meaford Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire which was not deemed suspicious. There were no injuries reported.

UTTERING THREATS

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) On February 5, 2017, at approximately 6:50 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the Foodland grocery store on Toronto Street South, Markdale, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands, after an employee of the store was threatened with bodily harm in the parking lot by an unknown male who had left the scene prior to police arrival. The 18-year old male victim was not injured.

On February 7, 2017 at approximately 4:00 a.m., police were called after the suspect returned to the store and became involved in a verbal and physical confrontation with another employee. The 25-year old male victim was not injured.

48-year old Keith VANHAASTRECHT, of the Municipality of Grey Highlands, was charged with three counts of uttering threats and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing on February 8th. His next court appearance is February 9, 2017.

R.I.D.E. PROGRAM RESULTS

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) On February 12, 2017 at approximately 2:57 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on Hwy. 6 & 21 (Sunset Strip) in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

The driver of a 1988 GMC GM4 vehicle, 20 year old Brock MORRIS, of Owen Sound, was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for being a novice driver and having a blood-alcohol content above zero. He was issued a 3-day driver's licence suspension.

The driver of a 2016 Toyota Corolla, 34-year old Carrie HOLLANDS, of Owen Sound, was charged with over 80 mg after she failed a roadside breath test and was transported to Chatsworth OPP Detachment for further breath tests. The rental car she was driving was impounded for 7-days. She is scheduled to appear in court on March 2, 2017.
