TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST OF DRIVER

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) On February 4, 2017, at approximately 1:27 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a Honda Accord on Main Street East, Markdale, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands, which resulted in the arrest of the driver after police learned there was an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a Recognizance held by the London Police Service.

Grey County OPP have charged 30-year old Angel Rae-Ann McCOOL of London, Ontario, with driving while under suspension, use plates not authorized for vehicle and fail to have a valid insurance card.

She was held for W.A.S.H. (Weekend and Statutory Holiday) court on February 5. Her next court appearance is February 9, 2017 in Owen Sound.

POLICE RESPOND TO FAMILY DISPUTES

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) On February 4, 2017, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a residence in the Township of Georgian Bluffs in response to a family dispute.

As a result of the investigation, a 30-year old male was arrested and charged with two counts of assault after having assaulted members of his family. He was held for an audio court hearing scheduled on February 5 and was remanded into custody pending a court hearing scheduled for February 8, 2017.

The victims, both female, ages 53 and 24 respectively, sustained minor injuries.

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) In another family dispute reported on February 5, 2017, Grey County OPP responded to a residence in the Municipality of Grey Highlands at approximately 9:52 p.m.

As a result of the investigation, a 17-year old male youth was arrested and charged with two counts of assault, two counts of uttering threats and mischief under $5000. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 28, 2017.

The victims, a 66-year old male and a 54-year old female, sustained minor injuries. Alcohol was a factor in both these incidents.

BREAK AND ENTER

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) On February 4, 2017, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a break, enter and theft from a recreational property on Southgate Road 08 in the Township of Southgate.

Sometime between January 30 and February 4, 2017, unknown person(s) cut the padlock to the main gate on the property. The culprit(s) proceeded to forcibly enter a large steel outbuilding where a red, 2007 Artic Cat 500 All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) was stolen. Other stolen property included a Husqvarna chainsaw, a Skilsaw trimmer, two fish-finders and two Bushnell trail cameras.

The OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit Mount Forest is assisting with the investigation.

WEST GREY WOMAN CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING AND REFUSAL

(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) On February 3, 2017 at approximately 10:41 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an unwanted female at a residence on the East Back Line in the Township of Chatsworth.

The complainant returned home to find a female sitting in the driver's seat of her boyfriend's parked vehicle. The female suspect proceeded to drive into the complainant's vehicle several times. There were no injuries.

The female suspect, who had been drinking alcohol, was arrested and transported to the Markdale OPP Detachment for breath tests, which she refused.

The 30-year woman, from the Municipality of West Grey, was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and with failing/refusing to provide a sample of her breath.

She is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on February 23, 3017.
